September 2010 - Update on Finn adopted 5 years ago "Finn is doing great! I think the last time we brought him to Creative Pet he was one year old, since then he has grown to 70 pounds and his spots have really come in. He gets a lot of compliments on the spots. We just finished a hiking trip in Oregon that combined his two favorite things - hiking and the beach. Next week we celebrate his fifth birthday, we can't believe he is already five, but he still acts like he is a puppy. I have a million pictures, attached are a few."

Buddy the Mastiff
August 2010 - "Dear Shannon, Please let me apologize for being late with my thanks for Buddy. It was three years ago June 2007 that we got this beautiful Bull-Mastiff from Animals Rule and in June 2010 we got this 2 1/2 year old English Mastiff Bailey for his companion. Bailey is on the right....Buddy is on the left. Buddy is the smaller one. Our female boxer of 10 years "Tessie" was put down on April 26th and she was buried beneath fresh snowfall just left of the photo. Buddy is all in love with Bailey from day one as they get along exceptionally well. Thank you again, Burt and Pennie in San Diego"
p.s. the photos in our medieval forest are from 5200 feet altitude at out house on palomar mountain.
Juno's new home!!
August 1, 2010 "Hi Shannon, Thanks for the email. Juno is doing so well! We are continuing to potty train her and for the most part she is catching on and staying consistent. We’ll keep plugging away! We have decided to keep her name (it’s a great name!). Thanks so much for the pics!!! She was so little! J. She is growing like a weed, and has fit in quite well with our lifestyle. We took her on a 4 mile walk yesterday and today, and she did awesome! Thanks for your offer of help on any issues. She is fantastic in the crate at night, and sleeps through the night and waits for use to wake up (around 7:00, or my husband earlier.) We are beyond thrilled with Juno, and we can’t thank you enough for doing what you all do. We are grateful that her first few months were in the care of such warm, capable nurturing people. I will continue to send updates." Warm Regards, The Dorris Family
My daughter Haley & her 'nap' partner -- Hangin’ out with my son Cameron
August 1, 2010 - "Howdy Shannon! Pumpkin is doing fantastic and he is an amazing dog! On the ride over to his new home on Catalina Island, he did great with the muzzle, but was a bit scared of the engines. He ended up delivering the 'trifecta'...he pooped, peed, and vomited. After that, we made it home and he ate a bit, drank some water and started sniffing. I don't think he's stopped since! He's got that great Basset Hound sense of smell! We've been going to the park daily, walking along the beaches, and meeting all the locals. He's a total chick magnet :) and all the hotel guests love him! He's getting along with other dogs, and is still confused by cats and birds. When he plays, he's a total goof! He tries to bury his toys and treats by digging through the mattress...it takes him about 2 1/2 minutes to realize he's not going anywhere and then he just pulls a blanket over it. :)He has slept through the night every night so far without issues. He loves sleeping on my bed, however I'll need to find him a step ladder...he's smart enough to jump down onto something soft, but I'm sure it won't be good for his legs after a while. I haven't decided on his new name yet but I'll have one within the next week and then let you know. Thank you for the pictures! I've sent them to the family and friends already and they agree that he's a total sweetheart. I'll keep you posted on Pumpkin! Take it easy!" Chris Freeman
Michael & Morgan with their new pup "Princess"
June 29th, 2010 "Hi Shannon, We are having such a wonderful experience with Princess – she is full of energy and love and everything else that comes with being a 9 ½ week old puppy! She is eating 3 times a day and she is doing very well with going “potty” outside soon after she eats. She is sleeping through the night in her crate. She did not like the collar with the bell – she chewed up the bell and made a dent in it – so we removed it to see if she can get used to the collar alone. She freezes up and keeps scratching her neck and tries to nip it off – so we removed it for now and will try again in a few days. She loves both Michael and Morgan – and they are in love with her and play with her every second they can! Princess is definitely teething as she is chewing on everything – esp. our hands – which we tell her NO when she does. We try to give her the chew toys when she starts doing that. We are working on teaching her the basic commands of “come” and “sit.” I think she is doing great with the “sit” command so far.
Have a great day!" Anie Solakian-Jersey
Cocoa's new Family
Update June 25, 2010 - "Hi, Shannon,
Cocoa is doing great. While we loved the name, Coco Chanel Bootsie, it was a little long so we shortened it and changed the spelling (like a cup of cocoa). She is so sweet and we love her. She loves to lie in your lap and have her tummy rubbed. In fact, if you stop to pet her, she will automatically drop on her back for a rub! My kids can't get enough of her especially my girls. She really has taken a liking to the females in the house. I'm afraid that they are spoiling her, but she is such a cutie and very hard to resist. The boys can't wait for her last shot so that they can take her for a walk. We did discover that she likes to "steal" stuffed animals or anything soft and hide them in the backyard. All the kids are doing great with her and have stepped up to help. I am really glad that we waited until they were older so they could share in the responsibility. Cocoa is almost housebroken. She has had a few accidents, but she's 99% there. The crate is a new experience for us. The first night, she did whimper a bit but by the second night she was fine. A few days ago, she started to go into the crate on her own to lie down. I read that this would happen but I really thought it was something the manufacturer dreamed up. I have included a picture so you can see her with her favorite pink blanket. Thank you for checking in with us. It's nice to know that she has so many people who care about her.
You have a wonderful organization, and we thank you very much for allowing us to adopt Cocoa."
