Animals Rule Rescue

Please read this page in its entirety before e-mailing us to see a dog. All of your questions should be answered. ** Our adoption fee's vary depending on the size, breed and age of each dog **

1. View our available dogs: Our website is always current.  If a dog has been adopted it is removed immediately. If you see a dog on our website, it is still available unless otherwise noted in the first sentence of the dogs biography.  Please read the dogs biographies all the way through, most of your questions should be answered.

2. Submit an application of interest: If you see a dog that interests you, its in your best interest to fill out an application.  People are very quick. There will be no private appointments without an approved application. This does not commit you to the dog, your application helps us to place the right dog into your home the first time around. You can put several dogs names on your application, please elaborate, yes and no answers are boring. The more info you give, the better your chances are to adopt. The dog will be adopted to the best home/family environment represented regardless of your "place in line." If you do not submit an application before arriving on Saturday, that means we do not know you are interested in the dog or that you are coming to see the dog and we will start our interview process without you. Submitting an application does not commit you to a dog. You can change your mind at any time.

3.Bring Pictures of your home & yard: If you plan to take a dog home then please come prepared and bring preliminary pictures (either printed or on your camera) of the front of your house, yard, fencing, dog door, gates & where the dog will sleep, etc. You are welcome to e-mail us pictures before you make a long drive for review so you don't waste your time if we feel your yard is not safe. Take good pictures.

4. Come to our adoption events: We have an adoption event every Saturday (rain or shine) at Creative Pet Supply - 305 North Harbor Blvd. San Pedro, CA 90731 from 11am-3pm. This is where the Animals Rule Rescue kennels are. If you have another dog, bring it with you. Bring the whole family including kids, we want to meet everyone. Creative Pet Supply employees are NOT part of our animal rescue and they don't know about our dogs. 5. The interview: We take animal placement very seriously and our animal return rate is non existant. We are your dog concierege and we place correctly the first time around. We will talk to you and all the members of your family. You all need to be on the same page and commit to the animal. We will look at your pictures to get a better idea of where the dog will live and we will still do a home check. Please come prepared if you want to take a dog home.

Directions To Animals Rule: Take the 405, 91, 5, 105 Fwy to the Harbor 110 fwy South toward the end of the FWY. Take the 47 Terminal Island/Long Beach off ramp and immediately exit on Harbor Blvd. Go right on Harbor Blvd, through the first signal (O'Farrell) & we are immediately on the right in a big red brick building. Creative Pet Supply. 305 N Harbor Blvd., San Pedro, CA 90731 If you are coming over the bridge from Long Beach, exit Harbor Blvd and go right. Follow the above directions. If you are coming to us from South Orange County/San Diego, take the 5-N,to 405-N to 110-S & follow the above directions. If you are coming from south Orange County, do not follow the directions from Map quest, they are incorrect.

Please don't call the pet store to dump your dog because you don't "have the time" or you "had a baby" or you are suddenly "allergic" or you are "moving" or your getting "evicted" or your landlord "all of the sudden said no pets."  We have heard it all.  We pull dogs out of the shelter that are in danger of being destroyed. Our sponsor, Creative Pet Supply, is a pet supply warehouse. All the dogs and cats on the premises are rescue animals, from our organization, looking for homes. The warehouse staff is not part of the rescue and the employees do not know about our dogs. They will not take messages for us.
